When Did You Start Working Fire Into Your Act. Sky Claudette- Right Around 2002, I was Inducted & I say Inducted Because It was almost like being christened,Christened by the flame I grew very fond of Fire Performance & for me it's not just about performing it's more than that . it's also not about Trend,Greed or Competition. Fire Is A Dangerous & beautiful Element ,& it must be respected in it's highest form,because if it is not respected it won't respect you it's living & so am I, as we all are ,Vlad started getting into fire performance shortly after I had gotten inducted & he pretty much feels the same way I do. Torches were my first fire tool,My love for it grew so deeply that Vlad & Myself started looking into more than just Torches for me for both of us now I am working with Fire staffs,Poi the biggest flame I have ever handled was 5-6ft high & believe me you better know what you are doing when you are working with flames that are that big. It's not as easy as just picking up a match & lighting it,It takes years of hard work, Hard Work & a spiritual sense of becoming one with it, as again it is a dangerous & beautiful element,anyone can pic up a torch but when it comes to performing with it, that is a whole other story & that's what makes our shows unique . I am also trained in Dance, I was a part of Queens Dance Academy In NY for 6 & a half years & took up Ballet & Tap I was enrolled @ the age of 3 & that helps with keeping balanced. And I am used to performing in front of big crowds We both are. We don't just wave the flames around we perform incorporating theatrical acts for places like WebsterHall NYC Torches on The Hudson BurningMan Festival Element NYC A&E TV Fuse TV. National Geographic TV The Nassau county Museum of Art. St.Marks Church NYC & the list goes on You Must Have a Connection & a true love for what you do !
